Ayyub Research Award for Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems for the Best Paper in Part A of the Journal goes to Jinju Tao and Jianbing Chen for their paper “Experimental Study on the Spatial Variability of Concrete by the Core Test and Rebound Hammer Test” DOI: 10.1061/AJRUA6.RUENG-1101 , published in the December Issue of Part A in 2023. The Bilal M. Ayyub Research Prize for Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems for the Best Paper in Part B of the Journal goes to Youngjun Kwon and Junho Song for their paper “System-Reliability-Based Disaster Resilience Analysis of Infrastructure Networks and Causality-Based Importance Measure” DOI: 10.1115/1.4062682 , published in the September Issue of Part B in 2023.

The award will be given during the International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) , held at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland, OR, November 17–21, 2024. We congratulate the winners with highest appreciation and thanks for their outstanding contributions to the journal. My greatest thanks go to all authors who have contributed their high-quality papers to our journal, which has made the award selection a very difficult challenge. I would like express my sincere thanks to the award panels for assessing the papers in a rigorous and robust manner.

The 4th International Conference on Vulnerability & Risk Analysis & Management & The 8th International Symposium on Uncertainty Modelling & Analysis ASCE-ICVRAM-ISUMA 2024 was held in Shanghai end of April with great success. Our Journal is hosting a Special Collection on Vulnerability Analysis, Risk Management, and Uncertainty Modelling Analysis to facilitate the publication of extended papers from the conference and other topically related papers. Submission deadline is July 31, 2024.
