Part B of our journal has received an Impact Factor of 2.2, which is a tremendous success for the initial allocation. The Impact Factor for Part A has experienced a slight drop to 2.5, which is a result of a significant increase of the denominator of the assessment equation. In overall, this is a temporary correction with anticipation for further growth. I would like to thank the entire team of authors, reviewers, and editors for their outstanding high-quality work that has made this success happen.

Furthermore, I’m very happy to report that the best paper awards for the 2022 cycle have been determined. With the new denomination in honor of our Founding Editor in Chief, Prof. Bilal M. Ayyub, the “Bilal M. Ayyub Research Award for Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems” for Part A is given for the paper “Risk Generation and Identification of Driver–Vehicle–Road Microtraffic System” by Heye Huang, Jinxin Liu, Yibin Yang and Jianqiang Wang. For Part B, the “Bilal M. Ayyub Research Prize for Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems” is given for the paper “Automated Transformation of UML /SYSML Behavioral Diagrams for Stochastic Error Propagation Analysis of Autonomous Systems” by Andrey Morozov, Thomas Mutzke and Kai Ding. The award ceremony will be integrated in the ASCE INSPIRE conference in Arlington in November 2023. We congratulate the winners with highest appreciation and thanks for their outstanding contributions to the journal.

A third set of great news concerns very prestigious achievements by members of our editorial team. In the recent EURODYN conference, Eleni Chatzi delivered a plenary lecture, and Matthias Faes as well as Wangji Yan were honored with a Junior Research Award of the European Association for Structural Dynamics. We express our most cordial congratulations!

Both Part A and Part B are listed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index by Clarivate Analytics , formerly Thomson Reuters, with Part A being indexed since 2019. From 2016 onward, all articles are included in Web of Science and Scopus .

Statement on Open Access

The editorial team motivates authors to share their pre-prints and/or accepted versions of their paper via institutional or other repositories, scientific social networks or personal websites in the spirit of Open Science.
